Seattle becomes first major U.S city to ban plastic straws and utensils from July 1, 2018. This will help alleviate the disastrous effect of non-biodegradable plastics on the environment. Food-services in Seattle will not be permitted to handout plastic straws, forks, spoons, knives and cocktail picks and will provide alternate options.
