Scientists predict climate change can affect Nilgiri Tahr’s habitat in the ghats, notably in Tamil Nadu’s Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve and wildlife sanctuaries around here. There could be severe loss of habitat in the future in these regions. However, Tahr strongholds in Kerala’s Chinnar, Eravikulam and Parambikulam will have stable habitats.
