A World Bank report predicts global warming to be a serious threat to India, warning that 600 mn Indians will be moderately or severely affected by changes in temperature and rainfall and suffer lower living standards. Another report says that current efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions may not prevent catastrophic impacts of climate change.
