The increase in the number of pre-mature deaths in India has been linked to worsening air quality as one of the major reasons. A study conducted by IIT-Delhi said that the level of Particulate Matter 2.5 is more than 2 times of its National Standard and 8 times of the WHO’s annual permissible limits in all studied cities with exception of Ranchi.
