A new study has found that most of the endangered sperm whales found dead in the eastern Mediterranean sea since 2001 were killed by our plastic waste. Postmortems of 9 of the 24 dead sperm whales reveals that their stomachs were blocked by large amounts of ingested plastic that made them experience slow and painful deaths.
