Gill ran a massage parlour and prostitution business in Pittsburgh in 1970s and 1980s by assuming the identity of a man Dante 'Tex' Gill. Fans and critics pointed out that Gill underwent a sex change to be a man and was not merely a woman in a man’s costume.
