The agriculture sector of Malappuram has suffered a loss of Rs 11 crore because of the heavy rains, according to the latest figures of the Agriculture Department. Monsoon has affected 3,288 farmers in the district while heavy rain left crops in more than 729 hectares damaged. Ten houses were also wrecked by the constant pouring of the rain.
