After imposing a ban on a range of plastics, Maharashtra could become the first state to prohibit the use of microplastics. The ban is aimed at protecting marine life, threatened by microplastics. These plastics used in face wash, lipstick are not filtered out through wastewater treatment and goes into the sea, eaten by fish, ending up in our plates.
