A Khadi and Village Industries Commission have been on the forefront in protecting honeybees which are on the brink of extinction.  On May 20, this year the KVIC distributed 1000 bee keeping boxes to the Mishing tribe from the forest of Kaziranga.  The move not only encourages bee keeping but also creates better avenues for employment for tribals.
