Vaimanik, a short film based on the Mumbai slums will be screened at Kenya’s Slum Film Festival. It is probably the world’s only festival promoting films about slums. The 13 min film directed by Jitendra Borhad talks about the life of 12-year-old Yakku who wants to become a pilot. It is set against the milieu of the slums adjoining the airport.
