Dancer and choreographer Kalpana Raguraman was born in the Netherlands. Her parents who were from Tamilnadu, had migrated before she was born. She had inherited the art of Bharatnatayam from her mother. She says the she has worked hard to create awareness about the dance form. Presently she is collaborating with classical Dutch musician Simeon ten Holt.
