A red alert has been declared across Kerala as the relentless rains compelled authorities to open the shutters of major dams, triggering to landslips and floods. The shutters of Iddukki reservoir, of which water level touched 2,398.80 feet will be lifted for a trial run. At least 16 people are feared dead and over a dozen missing in Wayanad and Idukki.
