The hardest thing to overcome is always our own mind.- Rashi Anand

Achieving one’s goals is not a piece of cake. Probably it’s even tougher if you are in your teenage years. This universal thought has been proved wrong by various young achievers and one among them is the young and vivacious Rashi Anand.

Rashi Anand is an Indian social activist who overcame numerous hardships to start her own NGO, Lakshyam, based in Delhi, has been working for the welfare of women and street children since 10 years and is currently spread over six states of the country mainly Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi etc.

Over a thousand street children have benefitted through Rashi’s NGO Lakshyam by imparting education and also empowering women by providing means of attaining financial independence. The kids are created awareness against drug abuse and tobacco usage through workshops.

Age is just a number for Rashi, since she joined her mother Poonam Anand, who is also a social worker, at the age of 18. Her insight into the underprivileged lives of the tribal people was a result of the trips she took with her mother and together they worked for their upliftment.

Women like Rashi are proving to the world that one helping hand is all it takes to make this world a better place.
