Whale shark logs longest recorded migration

Researchers tracked a female whale shark from the eastern Pacific to the western Indo-Pacific for 20,142 kilometres, making it the longest whale shark migration route recorded. The shark named Anne’s position was based on signals from a Smart POsition and Temperature(SPOT) tag tethered to her, which communicates when she swims near the surface.
