Violence costs India's GDP over $1 trillion: Report

Indian economy suffered a loss of USD 1.19 trillion, which is over Rs 80 lakh crore, in 2017 in constant purchasing power parity terms due to various incidents of violence, as per a report. This figure amounts to roughly USD 595.4 per person. Violence impacted USD 1,190.51 billion to the Indian economy in 2017, 9 per cent of the country's GDP.
