Transgender students to be accepted in Japan's uni

Tokyo’s Ochanomizu University has started accepting transgender students, who were born male but identify as female, in a rare move in a country with lagging LGBT rights. This policy will come into force from 2020’s fiscal year. Education ministry had issued instructions to municipalities to address the needs of LGBT students in 2015.
