Scientists capture image of a baby planet

Astronomers have captured the image of a planet’s birth from the European Southern Observatory. The image shows a baby planet forming in the dust while swirling around a young star. The planet is located about 3 bn km from the star PDS 70 and is a gas giant bigger than Jupiter. It has a cloudy atmosphere with a surface temperature of 1,000 deg C.
