Sanskrit Diwas is celebrated on Aug 26th on Shravana Purnima of Hindu Calendar. The day was first celebrated in 1969 and talks about the impact and importance of Sanskrit. 6 major works written in Sanskrit were honoured that are famous in other regional languages are: Panchatantra, Kama Sutra, Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita, Shakuntala and Arthashastra.
