No tax cut on fuel, Centre asks ONGC to share burden

In the wake of rising petrol and diesel prices, the Centre Govt is seen reluctant to cut the excise duty levied on the fuel. Reports said that instead of cutting taxes, Govt asked ONGC to share the burden by selling its crude oil to refining companies at below the international prices. ONGC supplies an estimated 20% of the country’s total crude.
