The spectacular sinkhole, which formed on a North Ireland farm in New Zealand, has grabbed attention worldwide. Rain dissolved underground limestone thousands of years old, eventually causing the ground to collapse, which created the canyon. The rock deposits are estimated to be 60,000 years old. It measures 20 metres deep and 200 metres long.
