According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, middle-aged women, who are worried about putting on weight when they quit smoking, even the minimal amount of exercise can minimize weight gain after quitting. Even walking for about 90 minutes a week or 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity can minimize weight gain after giving up smoking.
