MINOCA seen more in women

Researchers at University of Alberta have discovered that Myocardial Infarction with Non-Obstructive Coronary Arteries (MINOCA),i.e. heart attacks not caused by obstructed arteries, are under-treated and on the rise among women. It is seen as a benign condition but there is risk of another attack, if untreated. It is unclear why it occurs more in women.
