LEDs can make us mentally ill

A new study found potential effects of LED lighting on mental illness. Bright light therapy was helpful for depression but excess and poorly-timed light exposure have adverse effects on manic states and the sleep-wake cycle. Blue light from smartphones inhibit melatonin secretion in adults disrupting sleep and affecting the quality of life.
