Johnson & Johnson to pay $4.7bn as compensation to 22 women

A US court ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $4.7bn to 22 women, who complained that they developed ovarian cancer using its talc products. Earlier, the court awarded $550m in compensation and added $4.1bn in punitive damages. J&J denied the allegation that its powder was contaminated with asbestos. It said it was disappointed and plans to appeal.
