The author feels that tighter laws on rape and Beti Bachao program have not reduced the cases of violence against women in the country. India can be held guilty of the biggest human rights violation as oppression is being recast as a virtue here. Women are taught to be afraid of their own bodies, be demure and burdened within our own families.
