Indian-US boy gains $42,000 by correctly spelling ‘koinonia’

The 14-year old Karthik Nemmani, an Indian-American, has won the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee tittle. He won $42,000 in cash and prizes for correctly spelling ‘koinonia’. He is the 14th champion from the community in 11 consecutive years. Karthik and Naysa, another Indo-US student, were the last 2 standing of the initial 516 spellers.
