Govt panel recommends measures to protect personal data

In a view to safeguard the critical data, a panel, headed by former SC judge B N Srikrishna has recommended that all personal data of citizens should be processed in India. It also recommended setting up a “data protection authority”, an agency which would look at enforcement and implementation of the new data protection law.
