According to experts, food rich in Vitamin C and Lycopene protects the skin from the harmful effects of UV rays. The anthocyanin and vitamins in strawberries protect skin from UV damage.  The beta-carotene in red bell peppers protect against sunburn. The flavonoids in dark chocolate (70 percent or more cocoa) also protects from harmful UV rays.
