Denmark has passed a new law to ban clothes that cover the face including Islamic veils as the burqa and niqab, following the footsteps of other European countries. It will come into effect from Aug 1 and was passed in the Danish Parliament in a 75-30 vote with 74 absentees. The ones violating the law will pay a fine of 1,000 kroner (Rs 10,595.)
