China has announced plans to slap tariffs on $60bn worth of US imports in retaliation for US actions, worsening trade enmity between the world’s two largest economies. It was made in retaliation against the US decision to place tariffs on $200bn of Chinese goods. It said 5,207 goods imported from the US could be subjected to the fresh tariffs.
