China launches satellite for a lunar probe mission

China launched ‘Queqiao’ or Magpie Bridge from the Xichang launch centre. The objective of this communication satellite is to do a planned probe on the dark side of the moon. In a bid to catch up with Russia and the US, China aims to become a major space power by 2030. It plans to launch construction of its own manned space station next year.
