Banks collect 5000 crores as penalty from its customers

Many public sector and private banks in India collected an estimated amount of Rs 5000 crores from its customers as a penalty for not maintaining the prescribed minimum balance in the year 2017-18. State Bank of India is pack in penalising its customers.  According to RBI norms, banks are allowed to levy service/miscellaneous charges from its clients.
