Anchorage in Alaska, which has 300,000 residents, was hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake on Friday, causing disruption of traffic and buckling of roads. Television stations were knocked off the air. Some homes and building were heavily damaged. It was a scary day for the people. The White House has promised the assistance of the federal government.
